Was watching some variety show on okto,bout European countries festivals.I feel what sg lacks is the laid-back character and also the abundance of relaxation and welfare that many deserve.
Sure,the country is goal orientated and always trying to be at the top,but honestly isit worth it?Singapore is in the top 10 but her people are suffering like half the time or more just for that little bit of statistics and pride.
Imo,its ridiculous.
How many times a year do we even get to enjoy,just getting a day or 2 off to enjoy some time out? And by that I don't mean like taking annual leave etc etc,more like public hols.Bet I got more fingers than we get rest days per year.Fine you can say we get offs on public hols like hari raya,chinese new year and similar,but c'mon,what do we do on that day?just go visit others homes and watch tv and that's it.We totally lack some festival or a special day where we can all celebrate together and not just stay cooped up at home.And no,national day no count,cos like,every damn country celebrates it,so no originality there.
But,SG sure got the statistics it so endlessly keeps striving for.Not just getting into the top10 countries in the world chart,it sure got itself into the worlds top10 stressful countries too =.=
Students are getting drilled endlessly,stress levels I can safely say are off the charts,and lets not even move on to the working line,its hell that I cant imagine anyone looking forward to embark in.
I think,Singapore really is great in term of security,protection etc,heck you can go down to a 7-11 at 3+am and get back safely here,but unfortunately that's like about the only thing I'm gonna praise SG for.
So bleh,Its only time before I get out of here.
